Test pieces are shown in Fig 1. A and B are for the rolling shear test in which the shearing force works perpendicular to fiber direction, and C is for the horizontal shear test in which the shearing force works parallel to fiber direction. The shearing force works to open lathe checks in A and to close them in B. The notches are cut to the center line of the core veneer, and the distance between notches are varied in three stages. Test results are shown in Table 1 and Figs. 2, 3. |
